Ultra-chaotic property of Navier-Stokes turbulence

By utilizing clean numerical simulation (CNS) to avoid artificial numerical noise, this research illustrates that tiny variations in initial conditions of Navier-Stokes equations result in huge differences not only in spatiotemporal trajectories but also in flow symmetry and statistics, suggesting Navier-Stokes turbulence should be considered an ultra-chaos.
